Laurel has an extensive amount of experience in dental hygiene education, dental public health research and private practice patient care. She began her dental hygiene career as an AS graduate from the Fones School of Dental Hygiene, University of Bridgeport. She furthered her education securing her M.S. from the University Of Connecticut School Of Medicine. She is a full time Clinical Associate Professor and the Pediatric Dental Public Health Instructor at the Fones School of Dental Hygiene and enjoys her clinical practice time on Mondays with Dr. Daren’s office.
Laurel was recently honored and named a Top 20 Professor of Dental Hygiene in the USA by Medical Technology Schools.com. She is an active member and officer of her dental hygiene professional associations – ADHA, CDHA, and ECDHA, on both the National, State, and local component level. She is past President of the CT State Dental Hygiene Association – CDHA and a prior component officer for ECDHA. She continues to represent her local component at State meetings and represents the State Association at National meetings, helping to move the profession of dental hygiene forward and sharing her passion with others.
